Little Pine State Park has recently added an "Eagle Watch Area", close to where a bald eagle has nested on the park grounds. The dedicated spot is located just past the picnic pavilions on the same side as Little Pine Creek.
When at the sight you'll find a sign posted by the picnic table with information about the bald eagle and its nest. From that table if you look up and just to the left, towards the top of one of the tall pine trees, you'll be able to spot the nest.
If you happen to forget your binoculars, don't worry, the park offers a loaner program so you can get a close up view of the eagle, or any other part of the surroundings in the park. Just follow the directions on the posted flier and enjoying the scenery.
If you're visiting on a clear, sunny day, you may be fortunate enough to view this majestic predator soaring high on the wind currents above Little Pine State Park. It'll leave a lasting impression and a clearer understanding of this bird's status as one of our great country's national symbols.
